A message from Pastor Eric:

Can I share something with you?  Serving in one of our areas of need might not be what you think. It’s probably much, much better!  When you think of setting up for Sunday, you might think unstacking chairs is too difficult, but could you set one in place if they are unstacked for you?  What if you actually got to know some of our elementary students through serving in BCF Kids Sunday morning and became burdened to pray for them and disciple them?  In other words, what if you actually grew to love our young ones and are loved by them?  What if you found a new connection at BCF because of conversations you share while serving together?  You see, we often think of serving in a church ministry as time “donated” to “serve” when it is our “turn,” when in fact it is an opportunity to be blessed as you share your gifts with the body of Christ.  And of course, it is biblical.  God has provided you to BCF because you are gifted to serve it in various ways.

This isn’t just the pastor’s guilt trip because we are shorthanded, but a real opportunity born out of both personal experience and witnessing our people at work.  I’ve come to know people better this year because I serve alongside them.  BCF members are friends because of their time serving together.  Our students and children are genuinely glad to see their adult volunteers because they know they are loved.

Would you consider availing yourself to our opportunities to experience love and joy in serving?

General Information

To truly belong to the BCF family, we feel it is essential to serve the Body with the gifts and talents you have been given. The usual path is:

  • attend BCF Sunday services and some of our other offerings, like Bible study, if possible
  • attend a membership class to review who we are and what we believe
  • make the decision to make BCF your church home and become a member
  • join a serving team
  • continue to grow deeper in your love and relationship with Christ alongside your BCF family

Set up/Teardown Team

The set up/teardown team is responsible for transforming the school into our place of worship on Sunday mornings - and then reversing the process after service. We need people able to haul the trailer, push carts inside, move tables and chairs and set up our welcome and kids' areas. There are jobs for strong backs but also for those with an eye for detail to set up the welcome areas.

Greeting Team

The greeting team exists to be the first impression of the church for visitors, and the first to offer a warm welcome to all attendees. As one of the first impressions for visitors, it is important that this experience is positive and welcoming. There are a variety of positions on this team - outdoor greeting, BCF Central (connections desk), sanctuary welcome, ushers, etc. It can be a bit intimidating to try a new church, and sometimes people are just having a rough morning, so we want to make sure we do everything we can to make the love of Christ tangible to anyone who walks in the door.

Coffee Team

Help us welcome everyone on Sunday morning with fresh, hot coffee. The coffee team includes individuals who make and transport coffee to the school, as well as those who set up and maintain the coffee table. While monitoring the supplies and coffee levels, we also fellowship and welcome people as they get their coffee.

Tech Team

This is the team that sets up and runs all of the technical aspects of Sunday service at the school - sound, lights, cameras, slides. Part of this role is simply plugging in cords where they're labeled to be plugged in, running stools and stands to where they belong and then reversing that process to clean up. During service, the technical side really kicks in and slides are displayed, sound is adjusted, etc. If you are at all interested in serving on this team, we would love to have you shadow on a Sunday morning. There is a lot you can help with, even if you aren't a tech whizz. Don't get me wrong - we definitely need the whizzes, too!

Multimedia Team

Do you dabble in photography or videography? Do you have experience with webpages or social media? This team is responsible for documenting and celebrating important milestones in the life of our church, as well as helping spread the Gospel through tools such as social media.

Worship Team

Do you know how to play an instrument? Are you a singer? Come share your gifts with BCF and join the worship team. We have a Sunday-morning team, as well as our BCF choir that sings a few times a year.

BCF Kids

BCF Kids is where it all starts! This ministry exists to train children to be lovers of His Word and committed members of His Kingdom. We are always looking for people who love to spend time pouring into the hearts of our youngest members, ages birth through fifth grade. We need people to teach and lead a group, people to assist the lead teachers, as well as people to help with administrative tasks from time to time. The 3 main goals of this team are to teach the Word, love the child, and keep them safe.

Overflow Student Ministry

Overflow seeks to connect students to God and each other; equip them to winsomely engage the culture while standing firm in their faith; and reach a lost world that needs the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They meet every Wednesday night at the Annex, as well as periodically at other times for community-building or discipleship activities. This team serves as support for the students alongside the family ministries pastor - leading a small group, leading worship, and helping pick up or prepare food to enjoy together.

Events Team

As a church plant, we do a lot of moving! This team helps make our events happen. From planning to execution, there are a variety of tasks on this team. We need detail-oriented people who are gifted in organization and planning. We need people with an eye for design who can help design flyers and other printed materials. But we also need people willing to move tables and chairs, blow up balloons, put everything in place, and take out the trash and clean up afterwards. Events range from ministry events to community-building celebrations.

Communion Team

This team is responsible for preparing and cleaning up weekly Communion before and after service. Remembering the significance of the elements they are preparing, they also are mindful of food safety as they fill cups with juice and count out the bread, all to the Glory of God.

Care Team

One of the biggest blessings of living in community with others is being able to walk alongside them in trials and times of need. This team has the privilege of being the hands and feet of Jesus when it's needed the most. Providing meals to those who have suffered loss or illness or even welcomed a new baby, sitting with a person after surgery or giving them a ride to the store, visiting someone while homebound, or whatever else may be needed. The BCF family of believers truly desires to surround each other in love and hospitality. We have a heart for serving those who need to be uplifted or encouraged, often in very practical ways.
